Website Operating Guide

How to manage your website content

A short, plain-English guide to adding and editing everything on your site from the WordPress dashboard — projects, blog posts, events, promotions, videos and reviews. No code, no fuss.

Two things every item shares

No matter what you're adding, these two fields always behave the same way.

① Title The big “Add title” box at the top of the editor. This is WordPress's standard title and becomes the item's heading and web address. Always fill it in.
② Featured image The “Set featured image” box on the right-hand panel. This is WordPress's standard featured image and becomes the main photo on cards and page headers. Use a landscape photo where possible.
The only exceptions: Videos don't need a featured image (the thumbnail is pulled automatically from the YouTube link), and Reviews don't use one either (they're text-only). Everything else uses the featured image as its card photo.

How to add anything — the same 4 steps

1

In the left menu, click the section (e.g. Portfolio) then Add New.

2

Type the Title, and set the Featured image on the right.

3

Fill in the fields in the Details box lower down the page.

4

Click the blue Publish button (top-right), then Publish again to confirm.

Portfolio (Projects)

Menu: Portfolio → Add New

Each project gets its own page with a photo gallery. The featured image is the cover photo shown on the Portfolio listing.

FieldTypeWhat to put
TagsTextComma-separated style/room tags, e.g. Residential, Scandinavian, Condo. These become the filter chips.
Housing TypeTexte.g. 5 Room BTO, 3 Bedroom Condo.
HomeownersTexte.g. A Young Couple.
Price RangeTexte.g. ~ $68,000.
Subtitle / Pull QuoteTextOne short line shown under the project title.
Hero DescriptionParagraphsThe story of the project. Leave a blank line between paragraphs.
Project GalleryImagesClick Manage Gallery → pick the interior photos. These form the masonry gallery on the project page.

🏷️ How the “Tags” field works (the comma-separated one)

Type all your tags into the one Tags box, putting a comma between each. Every tag automatically becomes a clickable filter button at the top of the Portfolio page — so visitors can sort projects by style or home type.

You type this
Residential, Scandinavian, Condo
Visitors get these filters
ResidentialScandinavianCondo
Put a comma between tags  Residential, Condo
No commas makes one giant tag  Residential Condo
Spaces inside a tag are fine  HDB BTO stays one chip
Don't leave a comma hanging at the end  Condo,
Spell each tag the same way on every project so they group under one filter
condo and Condo can split into two filters — keep capitalisation consistent
Featured image = the project's cover photo on the Portfolio grid. The Gallery is separate — those are the photos inside the project page.

Blog (Articles)

Menu: Posts → Add New

Standard WordPress posts. Write the article in the main editor; the featured image is the cover photo on the Blog listing and at the top of the article.

FieldTypeWhat to put
BodyEditorYour article. Just type normally — each paragraph is its own block.
CategoryRight panelPick a category (e.g. Tips, Trends). Used for filtering & related posts.
Special shortcuts — start a paragraph with one of these and it auto-styles into a designed block:
Type at the start of a paragraphBecomes
H: your sentenceA highlighted pull-quote (large italic, accent border).
K: your pointA “Key takeaways” card. Stack several K: lines for a bullet list.
F: a question
Q: the answer
An FAQ accordion item. Put the F: line, then the Q: line directly after. Stack pairs for a full FAQ.
Example: typing F: How long does a renovation take? then on the next line Q: Most projects run 8–12 weeks. renders as a tidy expandable FAQ.
Heads up — blog tags work differently from Portfolio. For blog posts you pick or add Categories & Tags in the right-hand sidebar (WordPress's built-in system) — you do not type them comma-separated. The comma-separated Tags box only exists on Portfolio projects.
