I was really pleased with Jason Quek's professionalism and dedication. He constantly updated me on My reno progress and was always on hand to ensure his contractors do a good job. One area I was very pleased was he offered to alter a certain design because the end product wasn't to his satisfaction. The best part was he did not even charge me extra! Others may just ignore as I did not make any comments or showed any dissatisfaction. I will definitely recommend my friends to use their services in future.
We engaged Dot n Tots for renovating our resale private property based on word-of-mouth from friends and relatives, plus reviews on Qanvast. Our ID was Janice. Among the contractors we shortlisted for site visit, Janice did very detailed measurements for the quotation which was broken down very clearly upfront. The subsequent paperwork and insurance were all very well taken care of. We only proposed a basic initial design for her to expand on and it turned out quite well. She had helpful suggestions on what could be retained to lower costs and what really needed to be changed for the long-term. The company seems to do most of the major work (plumbing, electrical, structural) in-house, which really helps to avoid a lot of the contractor horror stories from elsewhere. Janice also sourced and liaised directly with the subcontractors for other specialist works (timber flooring, invisible grill) and the MCST so we did not have much to handle for the whole time. We did a considerable amount of variation work, most of the pricing was quite transparent. The workmanship is generally ok. They were kind enough to help out with some extra ad hoc jobs (e.g putting up Ikea stuff) we requested. All in all, the whole project went quite well especially considering the current pandemic situation and will definitely engage them again.
We went to dots n tots office after browsing them from internet and we met Joseph. Joseph is very knowledgeable, patience and helped us estimate the cost for renovation. During renovation time he is very responsive, able to advise us, and the estimation timeline met with our expectation. I knew the moment we talked with him for the first time, we felt comfortable and have confidence working with them (this is very important, as we met few other IDs and we don’t feel the connection). After going to over 10 ID firms due to several strict requirements for my house reno, I considered myself fortunate that Joseph Tan was my assigned ID from Dots 'N' Tots. From the first meeting, Joseph came out as a clear choice among other IDs. I liked that Joseph was able to identify issues immediately from my rough sketch and offered potential solutions with their pros and cons for me to decide. I liked that better ideas came out every time we had discussions. I liked that we were able to reach the envisioned design within budget. I liked that Dots 'N' Tots' quotation was concise with proper breakdowns. If I didn't understand anything on the quotation, Joseph would explain on a very transparent level. For an overhaul of a 4-room resale unit from the 90's, everything got completed within a span of 10 weeks. Works included hacking, masonry, plumbing, electrical, glassworks, carpentry and painting. Throughout the reno period, Joseph was prompt in replying to my enquiries while my own work kept me busy. I was highly impressed with carpentry workmanship. Little details here and there by carpenter made the cabinets better than I expected. There were a couple of minor defects at the end but Joseph got all of them rectified with the week. Overall, the entire renovation journey was smooth and I attributed that to Joseph's experience and workmanship of his contractors. Thank you, Joseph and Dots 'N' Tots, for the job well done!
We met Keith from Dots 'N' Tots at an ID open house to help with our maisonette renovation. Keith immediately struck us as a decent, honest and upfront person. Not pushy. Ironically, we took to him because he was not trying to impress us; instead he listened for what we envisioned and gave us a realistic expectation of what he could best do with the budget we had. One of Keith's best qualities is that he is very punctual with his replies. Even if he did not have the answer/ solution yet, he would always respond to our messages immediately, assuring us that he is on it and will get back to us. This may seem like a small thing, but it means a lot to us as customers knowing that we are his priority. Keith was also extremely patient with us throughout the whole process - when we could not make our minds up at times about certain designs, or making corrections to certain works that occasionally were not done to our expectation; he would always allow room for discussion. And for that we truly appreciate him. Another positive trait of Keith's was that he is able to communicate closely with his labour staff (sub-contractors), which is important for an ID in our opinion. This ensures that he not only understands our design goals, but he is able to convey it effectively to his people and provide the best outcome for his customers. In summary, Keith from Dots 'N' Tots provides quality work with quality experience - achieving all this within a decent time frame for the works required, during a challenging COVID period. And despite all the stress we know he endures, he never once let it affect his workings with us. This is professionalism. I've done my research before committing to Keith as he was very patient and responsive throughout the initial process. Happy with my decision as it is not easy to find a responsible ID these days and Keith helped ensure that my renovation process went smoothly, according to the timeline that I requested. Quality of work was also great considering my budget. Would highly recommend.
Really appreciative of Tommy’s prompt action in sending Senior Designer Keith Lio to take over my renovation project. It has been a breeze since Keith has taken over. The level of Keith’s professionalism, commitment and customer service is definitely commendable. Project timeline was adhered even though the design took some time to finalize. The progress of the renovation was constantly updated by Keith proactively even though I did not ask for the status. My husband and I walked into the journey of our home renovation quite anxious and worried bcz we were a rookie (as this was our first house) and we heard ID horror stories around. We are so lucky we found Keith! Our entire duration of renovation, my husband and I were stress free and very much at ease because Keith handled the project so diligently and had professionalism all over him. And this gave us more time to focus on big ticket items for the house instead of constantly being worried about our renovation. Being a rookie we had thousands of questions, doubts, clarifications and Keith was so patient in helping us understand the concept or whatever we needed to know. He gives his 100% to all his projects and this was evident from the outcome of our reno. He shared his ideas/recommendations with us of the interior designs, colour schemes when we were overwhelmed with choices or did not know much about materials. He has a good form of communication with his contractors because what we discuss in our meetups and 3D drawings is what was delivered in our Reno.
